New Children’s Library Inaugurated
Finally, a rich collection of story books, encyclopedias and other reference material is available to the children in Trivandrum. The Schoolkutti.com Children’s Library was inaugurated on December 22, 2013 by Ms. Khyrunnisa A, the author of the ButterFingers’ series.
Once the ribbon was cut and the lamp was lit to officially mark the library open, children rushed towards the book shelves to grab books by their favorite authors.
The inaugural function was followed by a delightful and interactive session of story reading by the author. The kids had the best time ever and all the moms and dads were beaming.
The library offers a wide variety of books for children by authors such as Roald Dahl, Enid Blyton, Geronimo Stilton, and Jeff Kinney, to name a few. Services, activities and contests related to reading promotion will be offered by the library from time to time.
Budding Scientists Contest at Bodhi School
The Grade I students of Bodhi School participated in the Zee Learn BrainCafe Budding Scientists competition held on 26/11/13. Mr. Chandrasekharan Vaidyanathan,former ISRO Scientist was the judge for the competition that was based on the exhibit, presentation, answering questions and project report. It was quite a tough task as some of the exhibits were simple with good concepts that the children explained. He was thrilled to see that young children were enthusiastic in speaking about their models. Mr. Chandrasekharan said that he was impressed by the way Bodhi School arranged the contest and encouraged young minds in conceptual thinking. Vishnu V was chosen the school level winner to proceed to the Knockout round in Kochi in December for his elaborate explanation and for the way in which he tackled questions. Congratulations to Vishnu, all the enthusiastic participants and also to Bodhi school for providing wonderful opportunities for kids to use creativity and imagination along with science and technology.
